Adult Piercing Aftercare

Nipple

Average of 6+ weeks to heal

  • WHEN at any time there is any scabbing on the jewelry, use Q-tips soaked with warm/hot water to soften it up and then wipe it away.
  • Avoid submerging the piercing in unhygienic bodies of water such as lakes, pools, hot tubs, etc., OR protect your piercing using a waterproof wound-sealant bandage.
  • The support of a tight cotton t-shirt or sports bra may provide protection and feel comfortable, especially for sleeping.
  • INFECTION is from touching the piercing with dirty fingers, not getting all the soap out, or submerging in water without a waterproof bandage.
  • Never use Neosporin, Alcohol, or anything similar!

Genitals

Average of 6+ weeks to heal

  • WHEN at any time there is any scabbing on the jewelry, use Q-tips soaked with warm/hot water to soften it up and then wipe it away.
  • In most cases you can engage in sexual activity as soon as you feel ready. Comfort and hygeine are vital.
  • During healing, all sexual activities MUST be gentle.
  • To increase comfort and decrease trauma, soak in warm saline solution or distilled water to remove any crusty matter prior to sexual activity.
  • Avoid submerging the piercing in unhygienic bodies of water such as lakes, pools, hot tubs, etc...
  • Use barriers such as condoms, dental dams, etc. to avoid contact with a partners bodily fluids, even in long-term relationships.
  • Use clean, disposable barriers on sex toys.
  • Wash hands before touching on or around the piercing.
  • Use a NEW container of water based lubricant. Do not use your own saliva.
  • After sex, an additional saline soak or clean water rinse is suggested.
  • Prince Albert and Apadravya piercings can bleed freely for the first  few days.
  • If using soap, urinate after cleaning any piercing that is near the urethra.
  • INFECTION is from touching the piercing with dirty fingers, not rinsing all the soap out, or submerging in water without a waterproof bandage.
  • Never use Neosporin, Alcohol, or anything similar!
